GEM-Y stands for Grace English Ministry for Youths. Just as its name represents, our ministry was established from the heart hoping the youths to grow in the Grace of God with the faith like crystal and carry out the ministry preaching the Gospel to all nations. Our vision is to let our young people have a global perspective, grow to be true worshippers who love God and their neighbors wholeheartedly, and become positive influences with their lives as children of God throughout the world. For these goals, we are praying and conducting our ministry with devotedly loving and faithful teachers.

GEM-Y는 Grace English Ministry for Youths의 약자입니다. GEM의 의미처럼 우리 청소년 아이들이 하나님의 은혜안에서 보석과 같은 믿음을 가지고 성장하여 전 세계에 복음을 전하는 귀한 사명을 잘 감당하기를 바라는 마음에서 지어진 영어사역입니다. 주님기쁨의교회 영어예배 사역의 비전은 우리 청소년 아이들이 다국적 원어민 선생님들과 함께하는 GEM-Y(청소년 영어예배) 현장에서 세계를 바라보는 큰 시각을 가지고, 주님을 사랑하는 참예배자요, 이웃사랑을 실천하는 유익한 크리스천으로 Global & Glocal 사회의 일원으로 잘 준비되어지고 세워지도록 돕는 것입니다. 이를 위해 헌신된 좋은 교사들과 사역자가 함께 기도하며 사역하고 있습니다.

현재 GEM은 GEM-C 어린이 영어예배(주일오전 10시, 주님기쁨의교회 비전센터 201호) GEM-Y 청소년 영어예배(주일오후 1시 30분, 주님기쁨의교회 비전센터 1층)와 GEM-A 성인 영어예배(주일오후 12시 30분 비전센터)에 진행되고 있습니다. 관심있는 모든 분들의 방문과 참여&봉사를 환영합니다.

Compared to GEM-C, GEM-Y uses somewhat a higher level of English language in terms of its conversation and reading. The essence and vision of our GEM-Y is to help young people grow up with a knowledge of the basic Biblical truths and what makes a healthy church community. It does this by providing them with an environment to read the Bible and share its contents in English.
GEM-Y does not allow them to be just mere hearers of a sermon message, but participants in the Word they read, exchanging thoughts and questions with a preacher. So our goal is to encourage and urge them to engage in conversation and fellowship. We also encourage them to pay close attention to the Word by becoming a true worshiper. We will conduct an award ceremony at the end of the first and second half of the year in hopes of motivating and inspiring this spiritual growth. During this ceremony we give award stickers to those who actively participate in service and activities and respond to questions as well.
As we make plans for various activities and programs, we, as the children of God and one family in Christ, look forward to experiencing joy, growth, and grace.

특별히 GEM-Y는 GEM-C의 예배보다 영어의 질 및 사용 빈도에서 어느 정도 수준이 있는 예배를 드리고 있습니다. 우리 GEM-Y의 특징은 아이들에게 영어로 성경을 읽고 그 말씀을 가지고 나눌 수 있는 환경을 제공함으로써, 청소년 아이들의 신앙이 성경적 진리의 토대 위에 성장하여 건강한 교회를 이룰 수 있도록 돕는 것입니다.
GEM-Y는 청소년 아이들이 설교시간에 단순히 말씀을 듣기만 하는 청중으로 머물기보다는 읽은 본문 말씀에 참여자가 되어 설교자와 함께 질문과 답변을 주고받고, 자신의 솔직한 생각을 표현하고 답을 찾아낼 수 있도록 Talk를 유도하고 있습니다. 예배와 각종 활동에 적극적으로 참여하고 질문에 답변하는 친구들에게는 칭찬스티커도 주어서 연말 혹은 학기말에 예배모범 수여식을 통해 말씀에 주의를 기울일 수 있도록 격려하고 있습니다.
매달 여러 가지 활동과 유익한 프로그램을 정성껏 기획하여 하나님 자녀로서의 기쁨과 성장과 은혜를 경험하도록 하고자 합니다.
